Michelle Halbert is a lifelong animal lover who founded K-9 Lovers Dog Walking Service in November of 2002. The idea for K-9 Lovers was born in Indian Boundary Park. Strolling through the park with her daughter, Michelle came across two ladies sitting peacefully with their dog, a beautiful Sheltie mix. After asking permission to pet the dog and being told, "she is not usually a real friendly with people" Michelle responded "I have a way with skittish dogs". To the owners surprise, the dog welcomed Michelle's touch and sat happily while being stroked and scratched. The owners gazed in wonder and excitedly asked if Michelle was a professional dog walker. And there began a thought that grew stronger over the years as Michelle rescued four ferrets and saved from euthanasia a 8-year-old Siberian Husky who had been caged by Lake County Animal Rescue for over 5 years. K-9 Lovers Dog Walking Service was built on Michelle Halbert's love, dedication and the commitment to "taking care of the animals, all the animals".
